COFFEE!! - unlike the former blog - is best served HOT! right? oh well.. others may argue that they enjoy their coffee cold, specifically the well-loved frappucino, but for me.. nothing beats zipping a warm cup of good coffee, especially in the morning.
Coffee coffee.. im such a big fan.. oh, no not a fan.. but a LOVER instead Ü Be it CBTL or nescafe, brewed or decaf, latte or strong, whatever the hell it is! - - as long as it is coffee, hmm * sniff sniff * haaaaaai. oh boy! now i am craving.
Hmm. but I think I don't know my love-thing that much.. so to tickle my fancy, I have managed to do some google-ing Here are the facts i've discovered [so far] and please, feel free to add some more:
Coffee has rich anti-oxidant properties which makes it a primary source of disease-preventing compounds, as it prevents free radicals from causing cell damage.
A good source of caffeine, which stimulates the central nervous system, causing increased alertness, a good boost of energy and feel-good-mood. Ü
Caffeine may also have an effect on relieving pain.
Coffee may even help prevent alcohol cirrhosis, an irreversible scarring of the liver that results from excessive consumption of alcohol. -- wow! now i know what saves me from liver problems hehehe! and now i know why they say that when u had too much alcohol.. just drink coffee! oooh
Myth: Coffee stunts your growth. [i got hell scared and frustrated before because of this info! ] FACT: It does not - - directly! However, taking more than 2 cups of coffee plus getting more caffeine from other caffeine-infused beverages == high doses of caffeine intake a day, will and can cause dizziness, anxiety and may interfere with normal sleep.
Coffee used to be labeled as a "muslim drink" during the 16th century. Then banned for awhile at Ethipia, then becoming the national drink of all faiths in Ethiopia [what a crazy history!].
Coffee was initially used for spiritual purposes, mostly by monks, during religous ceremonies replacing wine as a social drink.
BAD SIDE:
Excess coffee consumption may lead to magnesium deficiency[i dunno this!?!], and may be a risk factor for conorary heart disease.
It may also have a mixed effect on short-term memory -- oh my?! is that why i easily forget things? huhu!
There are also arguments whether coffee is harmful for diabetics or not. too much blahs.
ooh well.. guess we must take things, "everything" in moderation.. when we go to the extremeties of things - too much or too less - that's where our troubles begin knockin' us off..
Now i realize.. life is like yoga, finding our balance is the key to doing things right. ----- haai i miss yoga na. sssso much. but the thing is, slacking-off-mode is in the air.. tssss.
anyway.. back to coffee..
coffeeshops or coffee houses [which one sounds better?] are getting more in demand. go to any decent mall or area now, and u will see a coffeeshop just around the corner. Starbucks is one coffee house/shop that is being well-paired with the conception of coffee + baristas, just like colgate is to toothpaste.
i hate it. im more of a CBTL fan! *Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf*
that's it for now..
